Yooperlite is a unique rock that glows with a vibrant orange and yellow fluorescence under ultraviolet light. Discovered relatively recently, it consists primarily of syenite rocks rich in sodalite, which is responsible for its glowing properties. Yooperlite is found exclusively along the shores of Lake Superior, primarily in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, an area colloquially known as the "U.P." or "Yooper" territory. These stones are popular among collectors and enthusiasts for their distinctive and captivating glow.
